JKLF hold annual convention in UK |

Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) held its annual convention in the Luton ,the town on the outskirts of London, where the organization was founded nearly 40 years ago. The event was attended by nearly three hundred JKLF delegates from across Europe and the United Kingdom. There were number of British and European Parliamentarians and other distinguished guests who attended this convention.
During the first session of the convention the current situation in Jammu Kashmir at international and diplomatic level was highlighted. In his opening speech Barrister Majid Tramboo highlighted the activities of Kashmir Centre Brussels and in its role to further the Kashmir Cause in the European capitals.He drew his attention to EU Draft report and the atrocity committed by biased report of Rapporteur and said this report has tarnished the position of European Union.
About three hundred JKLF delegates from UK and Europe assembled here to elect its functionaries and central committee members. Prominent British Kashmiri leader Mumtaz Rathore was elected as the President and Zubair Awan as its General Secretary.
Member of European Parliament Mr James Elles, Britsh Parliament member Mr Kalvin Hopkin, Former MEP Mr Frank Schwalba- Hoth, Director Kashmir Foundation Prof Nazir Ahmed Shawl and Adviser to AJK President Mr ZU Khan were the prominent personalities who spoke on the occasion.
Mr James Elles declared the Emma Nicholson report totally bised and unbalanced.He said that the report lapse the situation and nature of Kashmir conflict by excluding plebiscite ,human rights and demilitarization issues.
Mr Kalvin Hopkin said that they are working with other British Mps to amended the report which will focus to resolution of this issue by involving the people of Jammu & Kashmir in the peace process.
Emma has been brutally biased towards Jammu and Kashmir.He asserted that the report should be amended totally to accommodate the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
ZU Khan said that has taken opportunity to condemn Pakistan .She has no authority to negate UN resolutions which gives Kashmiris right to decide their own future.
Mr Frank Schwalba- Hoth said that there needs to be differentiated to India and world that Kashmir is not a secceionsit movement but a legal obligation to India since 1947.
Barrister Majid Tramboo convened exclusive session of the JKLF party workers and over saw the elections to establish the JKLF Europe and UK set up.
Mumtaz Hussain Rathore was elected as President of JKLF EU/UK Chapter and Zubair Awan as its General Secretary.
Later all the elected functionaries and central committee members took the oath before JKLF AJK/Pakistan Chapter Convenor Mr Parvez Ahmed(Advocate) .

2nd Session
-Barrister Majid Tramboo also convened second session of the JKLF party delegates and over saw the elections to establish the JKLF Europe and UK set up.
-Elected functionaries and central committee members took the oath before JKLF Coordinator AJK/Pakistan Chapter Mr Parvez Ahmed (Advocate).
-Mumtaz Hussain Rathore elected as President of JKLF EU/UK and Zubair Awan as General Secretary. |
